I don’t know about the rest of you, but this comes at such an important time for me–I may be at the bottom of my “hope tank” and it’s hard to remember why we keep doing what we are doing for Darfur when things seem so bleak. I appreciate the inspiration each and every one of you have provided me. I look forward to connecting with you by fasting in solidarity, and hopefully connecting with a reservoir of hope and energy I did not know I had.

Thanks so much, everyone.

I’m two weeks into fasting and yesterday on water only was the absolute hardest, but I did it! I’ve always stayed away from fasting because I always felt it was something I just couldn’t do. I love food too much. I always gave money instead. Well, what an experience. It threw me right into the experience, right alongside the Darfurians — right into the trenches with them.

I woke up at 4:00a.m and couldn’t wait to resume my liquid diet… Only to find out I couldn’t guzzle down the cranberry juice like I thought, so I sipped.

I am so humbled. This really is a great experience.
