Darfur Fast for Life
We fast in solidarity with the hungry and starving in Darfur and for lasting peace in Sudan
That is so very beautiful! What a wonderful idea for Mothers Day. I am with you in thought and spirit. I will continue to water fast one day a week for as long as it takes for things to get better for the Darfur people. It is my prayer that God will give my share of food that I give up once a week to feed a hungry child. Perhaps make a miracle and feed several. So I will fast once a week with those thoughts in my heart and it is because of you Mia that I even thought to do this. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know what you and all those who have joined you are doing will save 1,000’s of lives and touch millions of hearts all over the world!

You are in my prayers and in my heart. i don’t know if you remember but i was at the save darfur protest in nyc last winter (i’ve been to so many it’s a blur) but it was freezing and you were shivering so i moved the heater closer to you. i am beyond angry and despair at the inaction and action (Gration’s remarks re darfur) and i’m trying to coordinate a civil disobedience in nyc soon at the UN missions of the nations on the Security Council. I don’t know what will move Obama to act. I don’t think any of us dreamed we would be having to fast or get arrested to get him to engage powerfully for Darfur! But here we are. Blessings, Carmen.
