Take action in the UK for Darfur. Here are some ways to bring attention to your leaders.

Contact your LEADERS today

Prime Minister Gordan is asking for YouTube questions and petitions from you!

Contact, by phone or email: Foreign Secretary, the Defence Secretary and International Development Secretary

Write your Members of Parliament

Ask them to:

fatma

  • Publicly support the International Criminal Court’s indictment of Sudan’s President.
  • Urgently seek the return of humanitarian aid agencies to Darfur.
  • Pressure the UN Security Council to ensure protection for Darfur’s civilians.
  • Work towards a peace agreement in Sudan which allows Darfuri’s to return home.*

Alert your local media outlets of your efforts and the situation in Sudan by writing op-eds and letters to the editor, or calling local TV and radio stations, and inviting journalists to cover Sudan and your fast.

The BBC has covered Mia’s hunger strike, be sure to ask them include Sir Richard Branson’s and expand their media coverage of local pressure on UK leaders.

Use the personal stories of Darfuris as well as your own. Tell them why we fast, why you fast, and urge our leaders to act for lasting peace in Sudan.

For more information on contacting your local media, check out STAND’s materials.
